Senior Lead Java Development Engineer

Our technology teams in the UK work closely with HSBC’s global businesses to help design and build digital services that allow our millions of customers around the world, to bank quickly, simply and securely. We also run and manage our IT infrastructure, data centres and core banking systems that power the world’s leading international bank.
Our multi-disciplined teams include: DevOps engineers, IT architects, front and back end developers, infrastructure specialists, cyber experts, as well as project and programme managers.
Brief overview of the business areas
We are a global team of full stack development engineers supporting an entirely in-house application called Falcon for our global Equities Flow and Delta One trading businesses. Our system contains components for order management, an algo container and several algo implementations, RFQs, options trading and front office risk management.
The team’s ethos is to enable the business to grow and continue to generate revenue by delivering robust and scalable IT systems. Reducing manual process and operational risk is also a focus – hence STP solutions form an important part of the projects developed by the team.
We interact closely with the front office trading business, primarily through our product owner who is the global head of the ETF trading business.

The role will primarily be remote based but maybe required in London site Head Office in Canary Wharf 1-2 days a month.
