Snowflake Data Engineer Consultant

Location: Orlando(FL) / Gilbert(AZ)

The Solutions Network (SNET) Practice

Deloitte’s Solutions Network (SNET) is a global network that connects Deloitte’s solution centers, extended delivery centers, clients, and vendor partners. The primary focus of the SNET is to support client development projects, client pursuits, solution development, and practice development. The SNET does this by providing project teams with a hosted infrastructure that includes a large mix of hardware vendors, operating systems, and technical application expertise. The SNET also provides on-site technical architecture and application experts for Deloitte’s clients. 

The Solution Network consists of experts with knowledge of all major packaged applications and technologies – Big-Data PeopleSoft, Oracle, SAP, JD Edwards, Siebel, middleware, BI/DW, JAVA, .Net, networking, SAN, server virtualization, etc. SNET staff is also exposed to new and emerging technology, and in many cases serve as an R&D function for Deloitte.

Snowflake Data Engineer Consultant Position Scope

The Consultant will be responsible for providing intermediate or advanced level technical professional services for application and technology products supported by the Solutions Network. The position will be focused on supporting client projects as well as sales teams in the configuration, customization, and implementation of selected packages and applications design for sales demonstration as well as client-based project implementations using Snowflake. In addition to hands-on technical work, this position will also require aiding project teams with functional design, developing documentation and creating client deliverables.

The ideal candidate will have implementation and development experience with Snowflake in a consulting environment.

This position may require up to 20% travel.

Qualifications

Competitive candidates for this role will have 3-5 year experience with at least 1+ year in Snowflake development. In addition, they will possess the following:

  • Experience with implementation of Snowflake cloud data warehouse and operational deployment of Snowflake DW solution into production
  • SnowPro core certification (strongly preferred)
  • Hands on experience in working with code repositories, CI/CD tools and Agile development
  • Writing complex Snow SQL’s, query optimization and expertise in Snowflake features such as data sharing, events, micro-partitioning, Snowpipe, lake-house, etc.
  • Experience in participating in data modeling and in developing conceptual, logical data models and working on large datasets of structured, semi-structured and un-structured data
  • Experience in one or more of the following is highly desirable
    • MPP systems such as Teradata, Netezza, Redshift
    • Data integration tools such as Talend, Boomi
    • Cloud platforms AWS/Azure
    • Migrating legacy applications to Snowflake
    • Python , Pyspark or Scala programming
    • Messaging platforms (Kafka, Kinesis, Azure Event Hub, Streaming platforms using PubSub, etc.)
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills (ie: MS PowerPoint)
  • Experience in creating presentation for any POC and publish technical documentation
  • Innovative and creative person who has developed new approaches to developing infrastructure solutions.
  • Goal oriented with high standards for quality and performance
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Prior consulting experience highly desired
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related technology discipline
  • Must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
  • Must be willing to live and work in one of our Center locations:
    • Gilbert, AZ (Phoenix area)
    • Lake Mary, FL (Orlando area)
  • Travel up to 20% annually (While 20% of travel is a requirement of the role, due to COVID-19, non-essential travel has been suspended until further notice.)
