Senior Member of Technical Staff - Advanced Technology
 

THE ROLE:

Drive technology development and supply chain bring up of new solder metallurgies to support new AMD products.

THE PERSON:

The candidate should have a proven track record in defining technical requirements like composition, physical, and mechanical properties for solder materials and should have driven supplier development to bring up these materials in high volume production. Should be hands on driving fundamental lab level assessment of solders pastes to recommend materials for process studies. Should be well versed in solder failure mechanisms during reliability to optimize package performance and have deep understanding of structure-property relations in solder alloys.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and productize advanced solder alloys for AMD products
• Select development partners to bring into AMD supply chain to invest and develop these concepts.
• Partner with Product teams and Manufacturing Engineering to demonstrate reliability and smoothly transition new substrate technologies from concept though NPI.
• Transfer the new product into a high yielding, cost-effective, high-volume manufacturing environment.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
 

• The candidate should be familiar with advanced materials technologies at a materials supplier or Fabless/IDM ecosystem.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
 

• Master’s in Solid State Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
