Job Description

Are you looking for a fulfilling role with good work life balance?

At Forest House we are proud to remain one of the only independent practices in the area. We have been providing veterinary care to local residents for over 120 years and, as well as our Hospital in Windsor, we have branch surgeries nearby in Ascot and Egham.

We are a friendly, inclusive and skilled team of 7 vets, including two certificate holders, and 12 nurses with a superb team of support staff.
We have excellent facilities on-site and a lovely spacious and bright working environment. We provide very high standards of care for our patients and clients, and have a passion for excellence.

We understand that a good work life balance is important and, especially in these challenging times, we aim to enjoy our work, support each other and have fun!

Vets are encouraged to follow their cases and are given clinical freedom.  Our team of vets work very closely together and case discussions take place regularly.  We no longer under-take our own OOH but we do work our cases up to a high level and hospitalise our inpatients 24/7. We have an on-site nurse 24 hours a day.

Benefits include:

  • 4.5 day week
  • No OOH
  • 27 days holiday plus bank holidays (or equivalent days off in lieu)
  • 1 : 5 weekends with morning consults only and on call to 5pm.  The following Monday and Friday off in lieu
  • Salary negotiable depending on experience
  • 15 minute consultations
  • No sole charge
  • £1500 per year CPD and certificates fully supported
  • Pension scheme
  • Staff discount scheme
  • RCVS and BSAVA fees paid
  • VDS cover provided
  • Employee benefits package

The role would be mainly based at our Windsor Hospital. All our vets will also consult at our branch surgeries at different times of the week. All surgical procedures take place in Windsor where we also have our hospitalisation facilities.

Our modern equipment includes digital x-ray, ultrasound, endoscope, bronchoscope, ECG and multi parameter monitors. We have biochemistry and haematology blood machines plus EPOC and coagulation testing. We have a separate dog and cat wards and isolation area.

We are situated in a beautiful part of the country with many outdoor spaces to enjoy whilst being in easy reach of London and Heathrow Airport.

All levels of experience would be considered for the right person to join our team.

Please apply by email with your CV via the apply button.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact Anne-Marie Griffiths, Practice Manager or Martin Watson, Practice Principal on 01753 858877.
