Job Description
Duties And Responsibilities:
Reporting directly to the Production Supervisor, the Slitter Operator responsibilities would include, but not be limited to, the following:
- Check loads of plate for possible problems before running them on slitter
- Accurately filling out production reports from load tickets
- Inspect body blanks being produced for quality, margins, surface scratches, squareness, color variation
- Feed body blanks into welder
- Feed ends into Double Seamers and check the quality of ends
- Empty slitter straw tubs and keep work area clean
- Assist maintainer to produce good quality and quantity
- Use Process Control to maintain good quality of work and monitor quality of products produced

Job Requirements
Minimum Requirements
- Manufacturing experience a plus
- Must be available to work various shifts if needed and be able to work nights, weekends, and overtime to cover absences or provide additional support
Preferred Requirements
- High School Education/GED
- Knowledge of all OSHA related training in a manufacturing environment.
- 6S Training
Physical Requirements
- While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and may be required to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- The associate may lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand for 8-12 hour shifts
Working Conditions
- Generally works in a plant environment
- While performing the duties of this job, the associate will be exposed to light lifting, warehouse forklift traffic
- Production noise level is frequently loud
