Job Description

This is a Senior Leadership role reporting to the General Manager Operations, Aftermarket North America. The primary focus of the Site Manager is to provide business leadership and oversight regarding the Receiving, Packaging and Shipping functions within the facility that produces approximately $425M in sales for the Florence Warehouse. Formulates plans and directs those departments responsible for supplier receipt, stocking, packing, order processing, and shipping product from the site location. Areas of accountability include safety, MPS, cost, productivity and customer service for all products distributed from location. The incumbent must exceed customer’s requirements for quality, value for money, delivery and the company’s requirement to improve profitability and growth.

Job Responsibilities 
• Plans and improves plant capacity and efficiency through evaluation and installation of capital projects and directing the activities of receiving, packaging, and customer order processing.
• Builds and manages a high performing team.
• Development and formulation of long and short-range planning, policies, programs and objectives.
• Formulates and recommends policies and programs that guide the organization in maintaining and improving its competitive position and the profitability of the operation.
• Identifies, recommends and implements changes to improve productivity and reduce cost and scrap, monitor scrap and rework data.
• Directs the establishment, implementation and maintenance of reman and distribution standards.
• Initiates, directs and coordinates major projects.
• Develop and implement strategies to ensure high fill rates.
• Develops and maintains an environment which encourages individual contribution and commitment to quality, output and customer service.
• Constantly reviews best in class distribution methods and reflect these in the adoption of new equipment, processes and working practices.
• Develops and executes AOP and BSR strategies that will significantly reduce cost.
• Exceeds customer expectations in order to grow the customer base.
• Benchmark ourselves against others in industry to drive Continuous Improvement.
• Ensures safe and productive plant operations through employee training and resolving safety issues.
• Cost/asset control to exceed Division ROI by managing budget performance, capital plan, performance, and cost cutting.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum of 7 years of staff leadership in multiple functions including warehouse. Prefer experience/knowledge of Meritor products, processes and systems.

• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Lean applications, Toyota Production System or 6 sigma Green Belt certification required.

• 5-10 years Distribution, Manufacturing and/or Operations experience required.

• Experience in Lean Distribution

• Strong oral and written communication skills to develop, coordinate, and implement changes.

• Ability to travel (10%)
