Job Description

As a Site CVS Manager, you will be responsible for the commissioning, validation and startup of engineering projects. Your role will be an active member of the Site Leadership Team, Site Technical Team, Regional Engineering Team, and Regional Industrial Engineering Team. Additionally, you will be responsible for deploying his/her engineering and process know-how to successfully execute and deliver projects to the business that provide a competitive advantage.

What are we looking for?

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Manage the overall efforts of a cross functional team in the successful commissioning, validation and start-up of new assets, processes and procedures within the Value Stream.  Ensure that new initiatives deliver the promised / committed operating benefits as described in the project description.  Develop and ensure full deployment of training to support the CVS of new assets and processes.  Identify and implement strategies that support the efficient conversion of materials into quality products in a safe, secure and sanitary manner.  Indirectly manage an interim cross-functional team in the overall operation of the value stream implementation including Project Leadership, Operations Management, Activity Management, Planning and Scheduling, Industrial Engineering, Maintenance, Engineering projects, Research and Development
  • Ensure ongoing project deliverables are integrated into FMOS as well as training programs and protocols.  Ensure sustainability of improvements through clear documentation and development of system ownership throughout the site.
  • Recommend and implement changes in methods, systems, and organization, as needed, to assure that the objectives of the position are met.  Deliver area requirements by influencing and gaining co-operation from other departments.  Ensure buy-in from all stakeholders through the CVS process.
  • Ensure that open communications are established and that opportunities to continuously improve the processes are identified and executed throughout the development, execution and validation stages of the projects.
  • Ensuring that the projects follow change management processes to minimize risks to Quality and Food Safety, People Safety and Operations. 
  • A key role is the management and development of the site CVS team associates in order to align activities with project objectives and provide operational and technical support in systems and training.
  • Responsible for managing the risk by preparing robust Commissioning, Validation, Start-Up plans in a timely manner, coordinating resources for training, as well as delivering safety, quality and operational procedures for the equipment following installation and prior to start-up.   This includes responsibility for meeting TRS and waste commitments stated in the projects.
  • Responsible for following all Quality and Food Safety Policies and applicable procedures.  Ensure the ongoing production of safe and defect free products consistent with the principles of Mars throughout the scope and execution of the project.  HACCP proficiency is required in order to successfully execute the projects.
  • Actively engage and lead as a member of the Site Leadership Team and play a key role in developing the site’s strategic direction, back up site leadership team members as needed.
