What are we looking for?

• BASc Eng, BASc Food Science, or BSc
• Operational management principles and competencies preferred
• Understanding of applicable laws (OHS, ESA, MOL) preferred
• Lean business practices
• Demonstrated ability to lead and drive change preferred
• Knowledge of Food safety, HACCP, ISO, SPC preferred
• Food processing and materials conversion preferred

What will be your key responsibilities?

• Responsible for leading a team of shift associates and providing operational expertise while producing quality product meeting schedules and design specifications at optimum cost in safe hygienic work environment
• Utilizes shift resources in the most effective manner to meet schedule, quality, and safety focus
• Educate, promote and develop team operational mindset around efficiency, safety, quality, and service
• Drives high level of associate engagement within the team; develops associates through the PDP program; timely addressing performance issues, and recognition of exceptional performance
• Reduces changeover and sanitation times through lean tools
• Drives site continuous improvement initiatives and projects using shift resources in conjunction with site engineering and CI resources
• Supports business systems development by ensuring all systems transactions are completed, accurate and reported at end of shift
• Provides direction for third-party temps, contractors, and vendors
• Executes Shift Manager standard work
• Responsible for following all Quality and Food Safety Policies and applicable procedures
• All other duties & responsibilities as assigned.
