ENGIE are recruiting for a SHEQ Advisor to be based in Titan Court, Hatfield. This is a permanent full-time role, on offer is a competitive salary and benefits package. Typical shift pattern will be 8am-5pm Mon-Fri.
The Safety, Health, Environment & Quality (SHEQ) Advisors report to the SHEQ Manager and work as part of a larger team. The SHEQ Manager schedule routine tasks for the team and provide technical support and guidance to the regional teams.
Role Overview
• On a day to day basis provide guidance and advice to the business on compliance with statutory requirements and company standards using GO visits
• To respond to requests for advice which fall within the job holder’s area of expertise, through discussion with the SHEQ Manager, and others where appropriate
• Undertaking risk assessments relating to SHEQ
• Assist Site team in reviewing sub-contractor risk assessment and carrying risk analysis. Completing risk assessments for direct employees.
• Proactively working with operational teams during the project lifecycle to ensure that SHEQ is considered at all stages and that relevant control measures are identified
• Assisting the business with implementation of the ISO and OHSAS relevant standards
• Highlighting areas where poor practice and/or significant risk have occurred
• Investigating incidents and producing detailed factual reports identifying root causes and recommendations for improvement
Qualifications/Required Experience:
Relevant experience of working as part of a SHEQ team
Experience in dealing with complex systems audits, both internal and external
Up to date knowledge of UK legislation in relation to SHEQ
Ability to work remotely and to work both alone and as part of a team
First rate communication and influencing skills
Good at developing relationships with Operational Leadership at all levels of the management structure
Flexible – able to work at all levels and at hands on level
Computer literate
