DIVISION OVERVIEW

Crown’s Food Division is the number one manufacturer of food cans in the world. JOB TITLE:  SET-UP MECHANIC

JOB SUMMARY

Set-up Mechanics are responsible for setting up and maintaining production lines so that quality product is run in a safe way while meeting the timing and cost requirements for the business.

 JOB RESPONSIBLITIES

• Performs all activity with safety of self and others as the number one concern
• Changes and/or positions, aligns, and adjusts dies, punch presses, tracks, conveyors, packing trays, etc. leading to the production of quality product in a cost effective manner
• Troubleshoots and corrects problem areas
• Performs preventive maintenance
• Uses computer to capture data, keep records, and share information
• General housekeeping and cleanup of the assigned work areas
• Adhere to all safety, quality, and plant policies
• Completing required paperwork, examples: production logs, QA checks, etc.

Job Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be at least 18 years of age

• 1 - 2 years of prior work experience in a job requiring strong mechanical aptitude

• Prior working experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred

 JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds

• Open availability to work on any of our five shifts

• Ability to stand for long periods as well as work on elevated stationary platforms and withstand climate changes, especially during summer and winter months

• Ability to work under pressure and adjust to sudden changes with work patterns or schedules

• Ability to work independently and with teams and possess good interpersonal skills

• Compliance with all OSHA safety rules and regulations

• Compliance with Crown’s Quality and Food Safety Management Programs

SHIFT:

Continuous Schedule (4 days on – 4 days off)

• 7pm – 7am

PAY RANGE:  Up to $26.10 per hour based upon work experience.
