We are looking for a high-performing Service Designer with strong business and systems analysis skills to join our growing practice. You’re first role will be supporting the delivery one of our strategic transformation projects; delivering enhanced, streamlined and consolidated training services for the Royal Navy.

As a Service Designer, you’ll be responsible for assessing the state of current services and providing evidence-based recommendations for future improvements. You’ll need to be skilled at mapping existing or potential systems and services, detailing their current usage, and interpreting user research data, combining all three to form the basis of your recommendations for new and improved services, systems and products.

Job Description:

We’re supporting our clients as they adapt to a new world in the wake of COVID-19. We’re now recruiting for roles which will help our clients to deliver vital services and to resume business wherever possible.

What you’ll be doing:

**This role is remote working with local office hub but flexibility to travel, mainly to Portsmouth will be required on occasion**

  • Assessing and mapping the current service, evaluating needs, anticipating requirements, uncovering areas for improvement, and developing the to-be service vision.
  • Turning research data into clear findings that inform the recommended future service design.
  • Helping to analysing the gap between the current and target state solution.
  • Assessing value/ building value case around identified improvements/ solutions.
  • Communicating your findings through appropriate research outputs, including user needs and stories, personas, user journeys, service blueprints, design concepts, research reports and presentation
  • Helping to design and facilitate research activities.
  • Managing and reporting to stakeholders and manage dependencies on other teams.

What we’re looking for:

  • Demonstratable experience in a Service Design, or similar design-focused, role
  • An understanding of experience design principles and knowledge of a wide range of service design methods and tools
  • Knowledge of design research and other requirements gathering methodologies (Experience conducting and analysing design research is essential)
  • Experience working with data from a variety of sources
  • Confidence with Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint
  • Great communication skills with the ability to listen to the needs of stakeholders and communicate ideas effectively
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly present findings via high quality design documentation
  • Strong user focus with the ability to collaborate with wider teams
  • Experience working in agile project teams and as part of multi-stream change programmes.
  • A confident facilitator, capable of running design thinking and user testing sessions as well as presenting results back to senior stakeholders
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong commercial awareness
  • A strong communicator with the ability to break complex topics down into key points for non-technical team members and clients.
  • Exacting attention to detail, commitment to accuracy and quality
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills - at all levels
  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic - ability to work to tight deadlines, with little supervision
  • Proven experience as a design thinking practitioner would be beneficial
  • Ideally some experience with data cleansing, preparation processing, and the toolkits and technologies required to do so

 Security 

 
Due to the nature of this position, we require you to either hold or be eligible to achieve SC and or DV clearance. As a result, you should be a British Citizen and have resided in the UK for the last 5 years for Security Clearance.
