A bit about the team

The SEO team sits within the Brand Experience Department and works alongside other marketing functions to form a centre of excellence for digital marketing. The SEO team has a high profile, driving a significant volume of the company’s traffic globally, and needs talent that can uphold this profile in a credible manner.  The Technical SEO Executive will report into the Senior Technical SEO Manager and will work as part of the wider SEO team supporting the delivery of SEO initiatives throughout the business.

The Role

The Technical SEO Executive will provide a supporting role to the technical SEO team in delivering the projects in line with the SEO roadmap. In addition to this, you'll be a point of contact for the business to answer tech SEO related questions while also performing ad-hoc audits, analysis, and reporting on technical issues/opportunities across the sites.  You’ll be proactive and perform tasks with attention to detail, the Technical SEO Executive will help to ensure SEO best-practices are applied in all site developments.

What you’ll be doing…

• Support with developing the technical SEO strategy alongside the internal SEO team and partner agencies
• Monitor and analyse organic search performance data, flag issues, opportunities and competitor insights utilising industry tools such as Adobe Analytics, Rank Ranger, Botify and Search Console
• Regular audits of site crawl and log file data to highlight potential issues and opportunities
• Performing ah-hoc crawls as required
• Compiling ad-hoc technical SEO reports as requested and in a timely manner, taking responsibility for the quality of your own work and providing insights where appropriate
• Providing technical SEO recommendations to internal teams helping to educate and raise the profile of SEO internally
• Writing technical SEO requirements documents
• Keeping abreast of the latest search engine guidelines, news, trends, techniques, and technologies as needed to ensure on-going SEO best practice in your day-to-day work

We’d love to meet someone with…

• Minimum 18 months SEO experience in a professional work environment
• A desire to focus more on the technical side of SEO
• A good understanding of the core elements relating to technical SEO
• Knowledge of search engine algorithms and ranking factors
• Excellent communication skills: must be a personable, confident team player, able to build strong collaborative relationships
• Experience in project management with excellent organisational skills
• Takes responsibility and ownership of assigned tasks; able to handle multiple work streams and deliver to agreed deadlines, managing priorities and focus as needed
• A natural problem solver; demonstrates innovation and a proactive can-do attitude
• Knowledge of Screaming Frog/Botify (or similar), Search Console, SEMrush (or similar), and Excel – must be numerate and have an analytical approach. Experience with Adobe Analytics and Power BI is a bonus
• A foundation knowledge of basic HTML and JavaScript
• Knowledge of SEO technologies, tools, and processes
• Experience working with international and/or ecommerce websites a plus
• A familiarity with coding or using SQL/Python a bonus
