The Role

We are seeking a motivated Senior Valuer to join an established team within our expanding Estates network.

The successful candidate will be a customer focused team member and working closely with military and civilian collegues will deliver exciting and varied estate Valuations and Surveying projects and programmes across all customers with the provision subject matter expert advice to all.

As a Senior Valuer you will bring experience and understanding of Valuations and Surveying to DIO and will be delivering agreed valuation outputs and programmes including rent review, bulk hiring, rental, capital and development valuations. You will be responsible for undertaking valuations, negotiations, research, evaluations and wider surveying work. This may include helping support the agreed programme of Estates Valuation outputs, services and subject Matter Expert advice in support of the Quinquennial Revaluation (QQR) of the UK and Overseas estate.

This post offers a Market Skills Allowance of: RICS Registered Valuer - £6,000.00

The post can be worked out of any of the stated locations. Please state your location preference on your application.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic most employees are currently working from home, as these restrictions ease the post holder may be expected to work a combination of home and office based working. All employees will be provided with IT equipment to facilitate remote working.

Responsibilities

Main Responsibilities

The Senior Valuer will be responsible for delivering agreed valuation outputs and programmes including rent review, bulk hiring, rental, capital and development valuations and will be responsible for undertaking and sign off of valuations, negotiations, research, evaluations and wider surveying work for the Land Management Services (LMS) Team and DIO Estates.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the effective project management and direction of allocated Land Management Services resources in delivery of land and property valuation outputs and advice to all MOD and DIO stakeholders.

You will deliver a consultancy service and subject matter advice to customers and is accountable for adherence to internal and external procedures, standards and regulations and will develop, manage and maintain internal valuation guidance, processes and systems in support of continuous improvement.

The successful candidate will develop and support your team enabling delivery for all objectives. Creating strong working relationships within your team, Estates and wider DIO and MOD, you will promote collaborative working practices with all team members, customers, and partners in support of the management and development of the MOD Estate.

Travel Requirements

Post holders will be required to travel to the sites covered by the post on a regular basis and some visits may involve overnight stays. Some sites are difficult to access via public transport.

Environmental Factors

Travel may be required to carry out site visits where you may go on MOD Establishments, residential estates, building sites, agricultural land, training areas and firing ranges etc. The successful Candidate will need to comply with DIO H&S Policies and Procedures.
