We are currently seeking an ambitious individual to join our team as Asset and Wealth Management working together with colleagues to define, manage and achieve divisional business targets.

Role Purpose

The UX research team’s core purpose is to enable customer-centric product development. Ensuring design, product and business decisions are rooted in meaningful understanding of people’s behaviours, experiences and needs.

In this role, you will:

  • Scope and conduct design research projects appropriately
  • Manage research resources and capabilities to achieve business targets and objectives
  • Analyze problems and proposing research solutions beyond the initial objectives and/or requirements
  • Challenge requirements and thinking
  • Work collaboratively with cross functional teams to support research and design
  • Work with the UX Research Leads to elevate design research as a discipline across the business
  • Work with the UX Research Leads to establish best practices, evolve methodologies and cultivate community
  • Integrate design research into the work with agility and creativity
  • Work under pressure, flexibility to redesign solutions in the face of ongoing change and iterative development, coordination of a diverse suite of stakeholders.
  • HSBC has evolved over its 150-year history and its adoption of digital channels is seen as important as the development of the business in emerging countries. Achieving a leading position in this aspect of Financial Services will take a number of years requiring the development of new capabilities and competencies with which the Mgmt. of the bank and the current culture is largely unfamiliar.
  • Ensure that all HSBC WPB services offer outstanding digital customer experience and fully deliver on the brand promise and a coherent Digital Strategy.
  • Provide market-leading, compelling digital product experiences that can leverage the global scale and distribution network. With increased connections between businesses around the world, the aim is to take HSBC from a collection of locally orientated digital experiences to one global set across the bank.

Qualifications

 

To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • 6-7+ years relevant or industry experience in User research
  • Proven experience conceptualising and managing research initiatives from start to finish.
  • You have extensive experience applying a range of methods to analyse research data and synthesise findings.
  • Able to engage colleagues in analysis and synthesis.
  • You have proven history of delivering results on time and within budget.
  • Act in an advisory capacity in the choice and application of techniques, and can critique colleagues’ findings to assure best practice.
  • Deep knowledge and extensive practical experience of the research methods - and are able to select and deliver on the most appropriate methods to address the design/ business challenge at hand.
  • Practical experience in a range of remote research tools.
  • Experience of a range of user-centred practices.
  • A champion for techniques and approaches that overcome challenges and get to a deeper level of understanding of audience needs and behaviours
  • You know how to design research studies and sample to take into consideration breadth of audience and projects.
  • Your passion for the value of research means you are a vocal advocate for selling it in to an audience who may have limited understanding of it or in situations where it is challenging
  • Proven experience in stakeholder management
  • You can understand and articulate the problem the design team is trying to solve
  • Ensure that user research is aligned with objectives and goals to inform decision making and action.
  • Ability to adapt and respond to events and challenges as they unfold.
  • Inherent need to constantly seeking opportunities to collaborate, help and learn for yourself and the team
  • The ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, clients, and partners.
  • Strong leadership and people & stakeholder management skills, problem resolution abilities, and good judgment.
