The Opportunity

Adobe Research is looking for a user experience designer to help us invent new products that re-imagine how video is created and consumed. We’re eager to find a designer with a strong history of collaboration, concept creation, visual design, and interaction design for emerging products and novel experiences. Join our efforts to invent the future of video by creating products that combine state-of-the-art AI and Machine Learning technologies with modern interactions, working directly on the newest technologies from our research labs.

At Adobe Research, you will work closely with outstanding scientists and engineers, in collaboration with product groups throughout the company. What You\'ll Do

• Create designs, prototypes, recommendations, and other materials.
• Work together with researchers, product teams, and other designers, as well as independently.
• Be the voice of the user, balancing user requirements, objectives, and emerging technologies. Plan and conduct user studies.
• Approach relationships with contextual awareness, grace, and diplomacy.
• Impact research on its way to becoming part of Adobe products.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in interaction design, new media design, HCI, or a related design field — or equivalent professional experience.
• A minimum of 5 years of industry experience in product design with a proven track record of success.
• Excellent visual design skills; a track record of making interfaces that look and feel great.
• Experience designing full applications, from concept to wireframes and visuals. Going to prototype and user studies is a plus. Launching to customers is ideal!
• Experience designing with Machine Learning / Artificial Intelligence as core technologies, or equivalent experience designing for complex interaction scenarios.
• Expertise in UX design of web, mobile, or desktop applications for creative tools.
• Deep knowledge and experience across a range of design approaches and methodologies.

Additional Desirable Qualifications

• Experience doing video production — for example, creating demo videos of new products.
• Experience designing products used in video creation workflows.
• Practical knowledge of onboarding UX that helps users learn novel interfaces.
• A clear understanding of user research methods and the ability to develop user profiles, personas, and core user scenarios.
