Job Summary:

The Senior Transaction Specialist prepares and manages legal documentation for Disney Institute and National Geographic Live. This person partners with various shared services partners and external clients to investigate and resolve matters and issues of transactional significance. You will assist with preparations and filings for various tax protocols for domestic and international transactions and conduct various reconciliations including commissions, royalty payments and withholding reconciliations and assist with various cost management processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Project manage the integrated Disney Institute and Nat Geo Live (DI/NGL) transaction pipeline, ensuring timely and accurate revenue recognition, receivables management and application of appropriate financial treatments for all DI & NGL’s contracted services.
  • Ensure accurate transaction recording in systems of record. Through extensive interaction with various stakeholders and talent; project manage the vendor onboarding, registration and payments process as part of DI/NGL’s vendor management program (including processing contracts, purchase orders, invoices).
  • Analyze, develop, and implement departmental workflows, SOGs and policies ensuring that transaction processes meet and exceed performance expectations. Identify trends, and gaps making proactive recommendations.
  • Partners with various shared services partners and external clients to investigate and resolve matters and issues of transactional significance.
  • Be a proactive thought partner and problem solver to enable the business. Act as subject matter expert to internal and external stakeholders on various transactional issues and revenue recognition processes.
  • Participate in planning and development of long- and short term team objectives.
  • Assist with preparations and filings for various tax protocols for domestic and international transactions. Conduct various reconciliations including commissions, royalty payments & withholding reconciliations. Assist with various cost management processes.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for invoicing and payments.
  • Establish documented workflows and procedures for all transactions related services.
  • Other projects and duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 4+ Accounting, Finance, tax or equivalent with prior transaction experience in a corporate setting.
  • Preferred systems experience with -DSCS, WebBEO, BRUCE, SAP Business Objects& Casual Buyer, WorkFront, Vader, DREAMS, Certain.
  • Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, make decisions regarding revenue management cycle and appropriate financial treatments.
  • Exceptional organizational, prioritization and time management skills and a strong attention to detail.
  • Highly collaborative. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate to all levels of the organization.
  • Self-motivated and able to adapt successfully in a fast paced, growth environment with minimal direction.
  • Proven critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional organizational, project management. Ability to manage multiple projects with shifting deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify best practices, recommendations, and implement solutions to meet changing business needs.
  • Extreme level of attention to detail.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint experience.

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree, equivalent or higher
