Our SME Digital Trading Team is currently seeking a Senior Trading Digital Underwriter to be the main referral point for technical underwriting referrals sign off. The team is predominantly based in Perth - we are flexible with location and the role can be based at one of our offices convenient to your location or homebased, however traveling to Perth once per quarter would be required post pandemic.
As the Senior Trading Digital Underwriter, you will be aligned to a portfolio of brokers/customers to proactively develop and profitably grow the commercial book of business.
Responsibilities in the role:
Lead the team in the absence of the Underwriting Leader
Attend regular meaningful face to face meetings with brokers/or customers (post pandemic)
Embrace and understand our SME strategy
Work towards underwriting licence levels as appropriate to your job grade
Coach and develop others
Lead role in supporting technical quality checks
Develop a good understanding of the SME digital business
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
An experienced P&L underwriter who operates within agreed guidelines and authority levels to profitably drive growth of the commercial digital business
Excellent communication, listening, time management and negotiating skills
Ability to analyse risks, communicate and present effectively to brokers and/or customers
Have experience of working collaboratively within a large complex organisation
Good knowledge of the FCA and other relevant regulation and legislation
Strong commercial business acumen to create and deliver business cases
Qualifications:
Essential: Strong education background, previous commercial underwriting experience
Desired: ACII qualifications working to achieve full ACII
