What you’ll be doing:

  • Identify the positive and negative scenarios required for testing a requirement, create the relevant test data and prepare test scripts. Request peer review where required (Review this on a case by case basis).
  • Carry out an impact analysis of requirements.
  • Provide guidance and support to onshore and offshore colleagues as required to help move testing activities forward.
  • Provide test estimates when requested (These will include data prep, scripting and execution).
  • Carry out all forms of testing required to ensure application is of releasable quality.
  • Plan environments and test data required prior to execution start.
  • Raise bugs and defects, including all the required steps to replicate issues, and follow through to resolution.
  • Report/inform the progress of testing to Head of QA, Programme Release Manager and Scrum master along with any impediments.

Deliverables:

  • Test estimates, test scripts and peer reviews when required.
  • Data and environment preparation.
  • Test coverage evidence and test results.
  • Reporting of risks and issues.
  • Support in creation and review of all user guides and release notes.
  • Contribute to retrospective sessions.
  • Demonstrations of completed stories during ‘show and tell’ sessions.

  • Using test experience to identify a varied selection/appropriate test technique to ensure the application is tested thoroughly.
  • Understands the customer and the domain.
  • Ability to review existing processes and identify areas of improvement.
  • Strong analysis skills and creative thinking.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills, with ability to negotiate and influence.
  • Team working and group effectiveness.
  • Ability to remain positive and deal with issues in a constructive manner.

Desirable Skills:

  • Strong experience of the One Digital product
  • Experience using Azure Dev Ops.
  • Experience of using Test Management tools.
  • Experience in databases, operating systems and internet browsers.
  • Device testing.
  • Accessibility testing.
  • Non-functional testing (I.e. Performance and Penetration testing).

Qualification:

  • ISTQB or ISEB Foundation Test Certified.
