The Sr. Technician will assist the R&D Professionals in design and resolution of design problems. This position may be based in Bedford Park, ILL or Bridgewater, NJ, depending on employee preference.

Core Responsibilities:

• Responsible for supporting the Technologist and Scientist of the PureCircle global applications team.

• Assist on innovation projects related to joint venture related projects, including testing ingredients and setting up sweetener and flavor blends for evaluation.

• Provide support for applications and executing on the development plans for prototypes and customer facing demos to promote functional, value-added ingredients and solutions to meet various customer needs in support of customer engagements.

• Provide technical support for a broad range of food applications and will execute the plans developed in support of food formulations and prototypes using bench top and pilot plant scale operations under Good Manufacturing Practices.  

• Provides technical input and support to internal customers and serves as a collaborative team member.   Helps others and responds to business needs.

• Perform research related duties as needed or assigned as well as general lab tasks and maintenance.

Qualified Candidates Will Have:

• College Degree with 1-2 years industry experience preferred  

• Years of previous food business experience will be considered in leu of degree

• Executes work packages. Understands priorities and how project plans are prioritized.

• Previous laboratory bench top experience in a research food laboratory/product development environment is a plus.

• Knowledge of common food processes, food ingredient functionality, and ingredient interactions a plus.

• Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills (technical reports for internal and external distribution)

• Demonstrated experience working with technical information (i.e. food formulations, food processing specifications, pilot plant procedures, etc.) desired.
• Team player, able to work with limited supervision, problem solver, and self-starter.
• Ability to work independently and with limited supervision in completion of multiple tasks
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Ability to travel 10-15% domestically to Ingredion locations.
