The Windows Servicing and Delivery (WSD) team delivers high quality servicing experiences for 2 billion happily engaged and connected, up-to-date customers! The team ensures the delivery of the latest features, bug fixes, and security fixes to Azure cloud and client properties as well as all versions of the Windows operating system across the consumer and enterprise landscape. We are looking for Program Manager with strong customer advocacy and passion for ensuring customers are protected and productive. WSD is a fast-paced team with roles spanning from the cloud to the client, where Program Managers have tremendous impact and ample opportunities to learn and grow their business skills, technical acumen, and their careers. 

Our team is the WSD Update Publishing Services (UPS) team. Operating within the broader WSD team, our charter is to build the world class tools, systems, and services used to power the WSD publishing pipeline that supports software products across Microsoft. As a Senior Program Manager on our team, you will work on designing the future of this pipeline for customers and business scenarios across Microsoft, and beyond. 

Responsibilities

• Lead the strategic vision of the modernization of publishing technologies across the Intelligent Cloud and the Intelligent Edge 
• Drive strong service strategy, feature specs, and planning rigor while partnering closely with internal stakeholders to crisply define, prioritize end to end scenarios and requirements.
• Deliver alignment across WSD and partner organizations to ensure engineers understand and deliver on shared goals using a robust OKR framework 
• Investigate and understand customer scenarios and expectations in depth, using telemetry/data, customer feedback, anecdotal evidence, personal experience and market perceptions 
• Provide subject matter expertise with exceptional depth of knowledge for the areas of ownership
• Partner with a team of software engineers to deliver technical specifications and drive the product lifecycle end to end 
• Manage schedules, risks, and issues with effective communication to the team, to senior management and company executives, and partners inside and outside Microsoft 

Qualifications

Basic qualifications:

• 6 or more years of relevant experience and a degree in computer science or related field; advanced degrees in CS or business administration a plus
• Proven ability to derive clarity from ambiguity, and direct teams to deliver effective solutions
• Effective leadership and high integrity in applying a growth mindset to learn from experience, and build trust within your team and with external partners
• Experience driving critical situations with confidence, directing the team towards effective response
• Great problem-solving skills, with a strong bias for simplification and automation.
• Bias to action and readiness to work with rapid ship cycles
• Proven ability to learn and apply that learning to improve business outcomes and drive positive impact for the team and for your career
• Great communications skills, both verbal and written.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strategic thinking to break down a vision to concrete deliverables and milestones.
• Comfort with server products such as Windows Server or Linux, as well as networking technologies used in enterprise IT deployments
• Experience developing and sustaining Internet-scale service architectures and Cloud service implementation and deployment
• Familiarity with project management strategies & tools
• Familiarity with IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS cloud concepts and technologies
