Key job responsibilities

The programmatic mission of this position is to assess and improve the effectiveness and sharing the engineering standards in Prime Video.

• By working with Senior Principal Engineers build state-of-the-union to propose areas of investment to address either growth areas for PV, or pain points that merit a more mechanized approach.
• Auditing and keeping track of organizational gaps related to engineering quality, and propose mitigating actions.
• Work with Principal Engineering Leaders (PEs) to increase access and influence of engineering best practices on the broader org, especially to senior leaders who may not be aware of what PEs and the org in general are doing to raise the bar for engineering excellence.
• Implement new mechanisms to track progress of important engineering-excellent projects and keeping knowledge sharing documents updated.

About the team

The cross-org TPM team consists of multiple principal and senior TPMs, and owns leading large, cross-organisational programs in Prime Video to deliver customer-facing and architecture improvements.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Technical program management experience working directly with software engineering teams
• Experience managing cross-functional programs and release schedules
• Experience building and evaluating system-level technical design
• Experience developing and executing/delivering product and technical roadmaps

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
• Strong technical knowledge.
• Prior experience of working as TPM or a Technical Product Manager (PMT)
