Job summary
We are looking for a passionate, talented, and well-organized Sr. Technical Program Manager to help build industry-leading Speech and Language technology. Our mission is to push the envelope in Text-to-Speech (TTS) in order to provide the best experience for our Alexa and AWS customers.
As Senior Technical Program Manager you will lead cross-functional teams from design through to delivery, managing all related timelines. This position involves regular communication with senior management, stakeholders and customers on status, risks and change control. Cross-team coordination and project management skills are essential. In this role you will:
· Own and manage how customer needs translate into algorithm design and model development
· Use your expertise in human language technologies and software development to drive improvements in accuracy, internal processes, and end-to-end voice experience quality
· Drive deliverables such as automatic speech generation (ASG) and natural language processing (NLP) models and implementation of new algorithms into production systems
· Prove your data-driven analytics and ability to write your own tools as needed for driving future research directions
· Drive consistent results and customer impact across the scientific teams
· 5+ years of technical program management experience
· 7+ years of experience working directly with Engineering or Science teams
· Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
· Proven results-oriented person with a focus on delivery
· Thrive on turning ambiguity into clarity
· Graduate degree in computer science, electrical engineering or a related technical discipline
· Experience in working in a product-focused R&D team with experience in driving innovation on algorithms or model development and deployment life cycle
· Working knowledge in Machine Learning/Deep Learning
· Working knowledge of human language technology (such as TTS, ASR and NLU)
· Aptitude in professional software engineering practices, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
· Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and management to collect requirements, evaluate alternatives and develop processes and tools as needed to support the organization
