The Global Finance Application Management (GFAM) team is a part of Baxter’s global finance organization, reporting to its Chief Accounting Officer and Controller. The GFAM team serves as the functional business owner for finance systems and applications and is responsible for:
- Understanding and documenting business needs and requirements for finance systems and communicating those requirements to the technical personnel in the IT organization that support finance
- Serving as the primary functional point of contact for personnel in the IT organization supporting finance and financial applications used by these teams
- Performing testing of IT test files and subsequent implementations to ensure that the functional business requirements have been delivered and that no new issues have arisen in connection with such changes
- Assisting teams in trouble-shooting time-sensitive issues that arise, and potentially have a systems component
- Supporting requests from external auditors in connection with the global integrated audit (including SOX) and statutory audits
The Sr Systems Analyst, Business Operations role is responsible for the business requirements, documentation, and systems/integration development for the replacement of the Baxter Agreement Management (BAM) System with Model N. Post project, the candidate will be responsible for the ongoing support of the new system, including but not limited to:
- Vendor Management
- Systems/Integration support
- Application security
- Annual audits
As the Global and UCAN SME for this system, the candidate will play a key role within the GFAM team. Key functions include supporting future systems development, acquisition/divestiture activities as required, and act as lead internal consultant for the system and process specific to contract management and commercial operations functions related to the ERP system.
Job responsibilities:
- Evaluate applications and manages evolving business requirements and recommends appropriate systems alternatives and/or enhancements. Prepares communications and makes presentations on system enhancements and/or alternatives
- Collaborates with commercial, supply chain and finance business and technology teams to gather system requirements, such as program functions, output requirements, input data required from the existing BAM system and/or future Model N system to support successful order to cash processing in JDE.
- Leads and manages execution of user acceptance testing as well as perform testing
- Analyzes business processes to formulate and develop new Contract to Invoice model between Model N system and JD Edwards
- Manages, develops, maintains, and establishes business requirements and functional specifications for the integration and processes between the exiting BAM system and/or new Model N and JD Edwards
- Collaborate on training/mentoring of users on system best practices
- Participate in annual audit of security and development processes
Qualifications:
- Requires knowledge of the current Baxter Agreement Management (BAM) system including contract management, pricing, compliance and incentive processing, distributor chargeback processing and price notification processes
- Requires knowledge of commercial business processes related to contracts and channel management
- Requires experience in business analysis. Proven ability to translate stakeholder requests into well-defined functional specifications and documented use cases
- Understanding or experience with Agile development processes
- Ability to critically review and interpret technical documentation based on functional requirements
- Strong communications skills (verbal, written, and listening)
- Ability to clearly convey ideas and concepts verbally, in writing, and via presentation
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and consistently meet deadlines through effective time management skills
- Experience with vendor management is desired
- Sense of urgency with strong follow-up skills
- Must be detail-oriented and able to work within a team setting
- Proficient at problem solving and analytical techniques
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal team members and external stakeholders in both the IT function and across multiple business areas
- Ability to work with integrity and build trust
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or relevant work experience in systems or business
- 6+ years of commercial operations experience
- 6+ years of experience in systems requirements gathering and testing, end user support functions
- Experience in business process redesign
- Experience in system design, testing, validation, problem resolution, and training.
