The UK & Ireland Amazon Logistics (AMZL) team is looking to hire a Senior Sustainability Manager to work closely with senior leaders across multiple organizations and geographies to identify, implement, and lead Sustainability initiatives across in AMZL.
As a Senior Sustainability Manager, you will be responsible for executing projects and programs and innovating solutions that help deliver our strategy to reduce carbon emissions and improve the sustainability of our in-station and road operations. Alongside owning strategic and tactical programs, you will be expected to consult with leaders across AMZL and drive implementation and completion by working through these leaders and their respective teams.
Cross-team coordination, project management and strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, as are a willingness to “roll up your sleeves†and get into the details that will make Operations world-class. You will be highly analytical, able to work effectively in a complex matrix organization, adept at synthesizing information into improvement plans and confident delivering at scale.
Key Responsibilities:
· Manage execution of complex cross-functional projects and programs with considerable impact across 80+ buildings.
· Work autonomously in an ambiguous environment, seeking to understand business problems, scaling factors, boundary conditions and reasons behind leadership decisions.
· Manage a broad range of stakeholder interests and support related internal communications and change management initiatives.
· Understand data and operational metrics to drive continuous improvement and set-up mechanisms to audit and perform necessary course corrections where needed to meet business goals.
· See around corners, make the right trade-offs, and design a solution that is appropriately simple and delivers on goals across organizations.
· Solve ambiguous problems and proactively identify and mitigate risks (before they become roadblocks).
· Drive best practices with a focus on outcomes for our customers. You will identify initiatives that will continue to optimize our highly customer focused operational teams.
· Remain flexible to changing priorities, open to new ideas and multitasking.
· Degree Qualification or equivalent
· Project management experience in a logistics or distribution environment
· Experience with planning, performance metrics, process improvement, and lean techniques
· Strong analytical capability; track record of digging into data and finding solutions for a variety of operational problems
· Excellent communication skills (including local language and English, written and verbal)
· Flexibility to work a variety of hours as business demands, including overnight, weekends and holidays
