Costa Coffee – Senior Strategy Manager (International)

Fantastic opportunity to join our International Business in this newly created position of Senior Strategy Manager.  In this role you will support the definition and delivery of Costa’s strategy and prioritisation of strategic opportunities, working closely with the Head of Strategy you will drive the strategy agenda for the international business, enabling Costa to become the worlds most loved coffee brand and driving exponential growth.

A bit about the role...

In this newly created role, the Strategy Manager (International) will be to work closely with International market GMs, Central functions and other stakeholders in defining the growth strategy for Costa.  The Strategy Manager will provide timely analysis, make informed recommendations on strategic plans, business development projects, potential acquisitions, divestments, market characteristics, business issues, competitive dynamics and future product development.  Key responsibilities will include:

• Supporting Costa's annual business planning process. Working with the business GMs to identify growth priorities and the challenges to be overcome in the 1yr and 3yr time horizon

• Support the translation of Global Strategy into Local market initiatives

• Provide timely and insightful analysis and recommendations on strategic plans, business development projects, acquisitions, competitive dynamics and future product and market development

• Translating strategic priorities into actionable plans – helping to set key targets and milestones aligned to strategy, objectively tracking performance, flagging risks and issues, and fostering strong working relationships is BU owners and initiatives lead

• Strategy development experience
• Market and competitor analysis
• Project / programme management disciplines + excellent project planning and organisation
• Experience of working in international markets (particularly Far East)

• Experience of sourcing, collection and analysing data from multiple sources 

• Degree level (MBA desirable) or significant experience in Consulting / In-house Strategy roles

• Basic financial reporting and analysis
