The ServiceNow Senior Solution Architect is responsible for providing thought leadership and strategic direction in the identification, design, and implementation of technologies to support the achievement of specific business objectives.  The Senior Solution Architect is expected to provide leadership in defining sound, strategic technical solutions for high visibility, critical software solutions.  

Job Responsibilities:

•    Provide technical leadership and guidance of ServiceNow based solutions from early phase proposals through, design, code, test and implementation. •    Evaluate ServiceNow products and solutions that might improve or enhance services provided

•    Engages with supported technical / engineering teams on function-specific architecture design, delivery, support and maintenance projects.

•    Supports technical discovery and assessment efforts, gathering business and technical requirements and helping architect solutions to meet gathered requirements.

•    Execute technical presentations to technical, non-technical, and executive audiences

•    Designs standard solution templates using reference architectures for applications, data and technology – using and re-using common technology platforms.

•    Develops logical and technical architecture to underpin functional and related business requirements. 

•    Avoids technical debt by developing reusable and scalable solutions.

•    Identifies opportunities to standardize and simplify related solutions architecture across groups / divisions.

•    Evaluates performance, security, reliability, operations, technology, and interoperability requirements and produces high level design deliverables that enable development teams to produce products that are flexible, scalable, and secure.

•    Ensure platform and technology architecture is coded and configured to deliver the security, privacy, and data protections expected by our customers and business partners

•    Accountable for the incorporation of cybersecurity controls, policies and procedures into each solution design as defined by information security

•    Understand customer objectives to ensure solution recommendations are relevant and add value to the organization.

•    Leverage and integrate existing technologies to satisfy customer business objectives.

•    Serve as advisor to delivery and portfolio leaders to develop portfolio strategy, roadmap guidance and provide business technology consulting

•    Responsible for developing and maintaining architecture design patterns

•    Serve as key contributor to Architecture Community of Practice forum

•    Prepare and present reports regarding the operational state of the environment for managerial review.

Compensation:

Compensation includes a base salary of $101,440 – 126,800. Salary may vary outside of the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's experience.

Position is eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.

Qualifications:

3+ years of proven experience in designing and implementing solutions on the ServiceNow platform (including custom applications)

Experience developing integration solutions with external applications

Fundamental understanding of the key technologies relevant to ServiceNow integration solutions (SSO, SAML, SSL, Web Services, LDAP, JDBC, ODBC, REST)

Proven track record of technical leadership in delivering complex implementations 

Applications integration, workflow design, analytics

Overall, 5-8 years of IT experience with solid experience in building, deploying and supporting large scale application solutions

Minimum 3 years’ experience using Microsoft Visio to create technical documentation

Working knowledge of ITIL Processes Change, Release, Incident, Problem management

Strong organizational and analytical skills.

Strong verbal and written skills.

Demonstrated ability to work with minimal assistance, self-reliant.

Demonstrated ability to meet project deadlines on a consistent basis with quality products

Ability to identify and understand issues and develop solutions.

Proven customer-facing consulting and presentation skills, especially around understanding customer needs, devising innovative solutions, and communicating solutions in a clear and compelling manner.

Self-starter with a continuous improvement mindset.

  Preferred:

BA/BS degree or equivalent preferred

Experience writing JavaScript – Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Actions, UI Pages, etc

Experience implementing and configuring, Inbound Email processing, Flow Designer, and Integration Hub.

Experience with web-based development languages (JavaScript, Angular JS, HTML, CSS, HTTP, XML)

Advanced ServiceNow Certifications (Application Developer, Certified Implementation Specialist – (ITSM/HR)

Experience implementing development work using Agile/Scrum and/or SDLC methodology

5 years’ experience of working with and designing enterprise platforms with experience across design, installation, configuration, deployment troubleshooting, and support

3 to 5 years of application implementation, support, development desired.

Experience in corporate back-off and shared services functions desired.

Experience in telecommunications and automotive industries desired.

Job Skills:

Has extensive experience with technologies appropriate to the position 

Has relevant industry knowledge of widely used systems and subsystems.  

Extensive experience working closely with and managing software vendors and IT service providers.

Must also have strong self -motivation and leadership skills.  Requires little to no direction to accomplish tasks.  Contributes to setting direction for projects and tasks.

Ability to identify and understand problems and/or issues and develop solutions.  Applies strong strategic thinking in designing technology solutions to solve complex business problems.  Ability to innovate in generating creative ideas to solve business problems.

Proven ability to meet project deadlines.  Highly adept at handling multiple tasks and/or projects concurrently.

Interest in developing knowledge around specific business areas, and how systems can be used to solve business problems in those business areas.

Adept at learning complex new applications or business functional areas, and discerning business requirements accordingly. 

Strong organizational skills.  

Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with the ability to present to mid-level management and Steering Committee members.

Expert-level understanding of the Systems Implementation Life Cycle.

Travel: 

Some travel for conferences or off-site training may be required.
