Cox Communications is searching for a Solution Architect for the Network Automation organization. This group is tasked with modernizing the way we operate our network by applying the latest software-oriented methodologies to the networking world. To be effective, we need an architect that has both strong network and software engineering skills, with an ability to lead engineering teams through key transformational initiatives in terms of concepting, designs and delivery. Your role will be pivotal in our success in adopting new networking technologies such as Virtualization, Software Defined Network, Intent based networking and Cloud Services, while incorporating modern web services designs including microservices, event driven architecture and general service oriented architecture best practices, which will help us achieve our goal of achieving autonomous operations.
Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
• Defines solutions architectures in alignment with the Cox reference architecture, in partnership with Cox Application Development, Network and Engineering, Operations, and PMO groups.
• Serves on Solution Design teams throughout the analysis, design, and build phases to ensure consistent, holistic end-to-end architectures and designs are being delivered.
• Creates initial concept architectures based on initial high-level requirements.
• Drives the technical evolution of the Cox application and platform portfolio towards the Cox reference architecture
• Provides feedback and recommendation to strategic architecture team to update, enhance or expedite roadmaps and future-state capabilities based on information discovered during project development.
• Assists as requested with design issues that might drive architectural changes.
• Ensures compliance to architecture standards and processes
• Initiates and manages engagements with external vendors and internal organizations within Cox Communications

• Possesses and applies comprehensive knowledge of particular field of specialization to the completion of complex assignments. Advanced knowledge of organization’s technologies and practices
• Primary contribution is in applying knowledge (product, industry, professional, and technical) rather than managing people.
Qualifications:
Minimum:
• 5 or more years of experience required in related field (i.e. technical solutions design, IT development, Engineering, etc.)
• 3 or more years of experience required if candidate possesses a related advanced degree
• Excellent interpersonal, leadership, presentation, and collaborative skills to work effectively with teams throughout organization
Preferred:
• BS/BA in related discipline strongly desired (i.e. Information Technology, Engineering).
• Experience in telecommunications industry desired
