Overview
The Software Asset Management Solution Analyst is responsible for ITAM Software License Management (SLM) technology solutions met business and technical requirements and achieve the identified business outcomes. The position has a combination of strong business acumen, application configuration knowledge and the ability to communicate effectively in both technical and business language. This role will assist subject matter experts with gap analysis / process definition and system enhancements. The focus is to support the business decision making as an outcome of the technical solutions for enterprise software asset management.
This person understands emerging technologies and can identify opportunities to automate and standardize business processes. They assist with educating the IT team on the goals of the business and assist with facilitating communication and alignment between functions and IT from the gathering of initial requirements to final implementation. This person may also manage process conformity, compliance, and is responsible for the development of business and technical process documentation and training materials.
The IT Software Asset Management Specialist will support the day to day activities of a team to deliver SAM Services for ETP and SGWS. The role will require prior experience in IT Asset Management – HAM and SAM and the functions that support software life-cycle management. The person will have knowledge operating systems to reconcile the discovery data. Also, understand license model variations and license management metrics PVU/RVU/User-based/Consumption/Metering.
They will lead and collaborate with analyst from Managed Services environment. They are responsible for ensuring all the SLO for tracking software titles throughout their lifecycle, support the sign-off of deliverables, and monitor key performance indicators.
Specialized Skills and Technologies
Microsoft Office Suite
Proficiency in Software License Management Publisher T&Cs, user-rights, and effective license position, renewal management, Software entitlement bundling, product use-right analysis and assignment
Familiarity with IT Asset Management Technologies, ie Flexera developing reports, dashboard, effective license positions
Knowledge of Purchasing, ITSM and CMDB technologies
IAITAM Certification, such as CHAMP, CSAM, and CITAM
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree (Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, Business Analysis, Data Management, BI)
2+ years of work experience in a business or technology role working closely with functions outside of IT understanding business processes and needs
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Understanding of business processes and the ability to design, configure, and deploy solutions to support them
Experience supporting Behavior-Driven-Design (BDD) process
Ability to demonstrate Agile delivery values of openness, commitment, respect, courage, and focus
Primary Responsibilities
Drive the collection of required information to develop Software Asset Management framework for ITAM, including process, technologies, reporting on SLOs and KPIs
Conduit into the detail required from the Procurement team. Understand current state procurement systems, processes, and data sources, and gather and source contractual, purchase and spend data required to build an effective software entitlement position for SGWS
License owner and assignment maintenance working with SGWS Infrastructure and Business Teams
Applies system solutions to business requirements through the design and configuration of systems platforms and applications
Gather and document requirements and translate high-level business requirements into business requirements documents (BRD) and functional specifications
This role will assist subject matter experts with gap analysis/process definition and system enhancements and will provide a high level of service for break-fix incidents and requests
Support and sometimes drive the definition of project requirements by identifying project milestones, phases, and elements; assist with project budget needs
Monitor project progress by tracking activity, resolving problems, publishing progress reports, and recommending actions as directed
