Job Description:
Strategic Advisors Technology (SAT) are seeking a dynamic, highly-motivated individual to lead performance engineering and troubleshooting for business critical high volume applications. The lead will be responsible for managing the performance certification and regression of multi-tiered distributed applications, and crucially for investigating and tuning performance issues that are found. A strong background in development (especially DB) or a deep understanding of investigating and tuning SQL and stored procedures (preferably using Oracle) is required as well as knowledge of multiple application infrastructures and strong communication skills are required for this position.
The Expertise We’re Looking For
Performance problem troubleshooting and root cause investigation experience (especially on DB issues)
Experience working with a large scale engineering team on different performance test types and strategies
Deep knowledge of Oracle, messaging technologies, middleware Java stack, unix
Comfortable working in a fast-paced Agile team with exposure to continuous integration/ continuous delivery tools/processes.
Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and at least three years prior experience in this type of role
The Purpose of Your Role
You will develop test strategies using project artifacts as well as in depth interviews of architects and development leads to ensure capacity and stability of the platform applications meet requirements for production deployment. Assist the team in defining SLA’s for various functional components in the platform and communicating performance testing results and identify areas for improvement with stakeholders at all levels
The Skills You Bring
Excellent analytical skills and extensive troubleshooting experience of performance throughput issues, especially including database tuning experience – SQL profiling, Contention/Locking Analysis & Bottleneck analysis
Expert in defining fundamental design principles for building scalable applications, and a thorough understanding of distributed systems, Internet principles and statistical data analysis
You have experience with enterprise cloud enabled distributed systems.
Extensive experience with tools that can be used to monitor, investigate, and profile applications, e.g. Datadog, JMeter, Dynatrace, Jprofiler, wireshark, etc.

$64,000 – $100,000
This position is eligible for incentive compensation or an annual bonus opportunity.
