We're looking for an Engineering Manager with a passion for building and growing Microsoft’s next developer platform. Our team designs, architects, and develops Teams apps for a range of industries and organizations. We collaborate with ISVs and line-of-business developer partners, providing guidance and expertise for their success. We work closely with internal teams to influence the design and direction of Microsoft Teams.

Responsibilities

• Be a great manager, mentor, and leader of a team of 6-8 software engineers driving the efforts above
• Support and influence the team culture of customer focus and continuous improvement
• Be a great process engineer, accountable to the design, implementation, schedule and delivery of the team’s programs and products
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other Platform teams to define requirements and solutions
• Foster a culture of diversity and inclusion, creating an environment for innovation
• This is a technical position: the ideal candidate should be capable of working on code, supporting partner requirements and understand end to end data flows.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

o 12+ years of software development experience, with some of them in a management position
o Undergraduate or Graduate degree in Computer Science or related engineering discipline
o Proficiency in web technology stacks, preferably C#/.NET or Node.JS, and React
o Excellent written and oral communication skills
o Problem solving mentality leveraging internal and/or external resources, conflict resolution, and follow through with partners.
o Inclusive and collaborative, driving teamwork and cross-team alignment

Preferred Qualifications:

o Experience working on large-scale cloud applications
o Communication and presentation skills with a degree of comfort to large and small technical audiences
o Technical knowledge and practical experience in one or more of the following areas:

 Design and implementation of complex single-page apps
 Microsoft Azure PaaS (e.g, web apps, microservices, functions, cloud storage)
 Microsoft Power Platform
 Microsoft 365 / Microsoft Teams development
 Microsoft SharePoint SPFx development
