Commerce platform and experiences organization within Azure’s Commerce & Ecosystems builds and operates the high scale, mission critical services that process usage data from every Azure machine worldwide. We implement an industry leading set of pricing models and apply those models continuously to determine a customer’s charges at any given moment.
The platform is central to every workload and feature in Azure and has enormous visibility and business impact. Almost every aspect of Azure is dependent on our work. In addition, we are driving to provide industry differentiated performance in the time that it takes customers to see usage and expenses for their workloads that appear in Cloud Cost Management website, allowing customers to manage and optimize their Azure resource use.
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to help take us to the next level. The area is both deep and wide, with company level impact and growth potential. There are significant opportunities to build technical innovation in the areas of big data and stream processing. It also opens broad partnerships as we work with engineering teams across Azure, the business and sales and marketing.
Design and develop key highly available services and features at scale to cater to cloud customers with very high transaction throughput with a messaging and API based architecture.
· Work collaboratively and manage V-teams across peer engineering organizations, business units, sales and marketing.
· Manage all aspects of the engineering process, including architecture, implementation, security, compliance, quality and schedule.
· Continue to build a great team and attract top talent.
·Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
· 15+ years of professional software engineering experience using Java, C#, C/C++ or equivalent level language with at least 3 years of that time as a people manager.
· Strong technical expertise, met by proficiency in implementing 2 or more of the following or equivalent areas:
o 4+ years building and running high scale services
o Mission critical big data workloads
o Operating systems/gaming consoles
o Programming frameworks (.Net, C++ libraries or equivalent)
o Implementation of Distributed Systems
o Implementation of Message based architecture
o High scale OLTP or OLAP storage implementations
· Experience leading and delivering projects that span multiple engineering organization
