We are the Microsoft Cloud for Sustainability team and are eager to provide an insightful and delightful sustainability experience. Our vision is to provide solutions that empower organizations to make sustainable decisions through visibility into carbon emissions, circularity, water and waste that facilitates the reduction in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.

 
To fulfill this vision, we are looking for an individual that is passionate about our planet and Sustainability Product Innovation. This work will include partnering to develop new features and tools, improve existing services, and ensure sustainability is part of engineering work across the company. This new role will be an integral part of a new team dedicated to internal and external stakeholder engagements on sustainability.

The team consists of highly motivated, innovative, customer-focused program managers, engineers and designer. We’re optimizing our engineering for the cloud with a faster release cadence to deliver innovation at an exciting pace. Our team works in an agile start-up like environment where we expect each team member to think out of the box to contribute and collaborate towards the mission of the team in a feature-crew setting. Responsibilities

As a Senior Software Development engineer, you will:

• Lead the technical direction and vision for the architecture, design, and implementation of Microsoft Cloud for Sustainability features.
• Work across organizations, collaborating with internal partner teams such as Power Platform, Dataverse, Azure, Microsoft Teams, Power BI, Power Automate, Power Query, etc. for a seamless and user-friendly integration.
• Design and implement a great user experience based on Microsoft Power Platform, as well as microservices to enable a highly scalable Sustainability solution backend and real time monitoring capabilities.
• Collaborate with teammates in various roles to plan, design and execute on key deliverables.
• Support the live solution, ensuring uninterrupted operation of our features, and, when necessary, working directly with customers and partners to resolve their urgent issues within SLA.
• Mentor junior engineers on the team to help them grow.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software development experience
• Strong software design skills, including object-oriented design and analysis, as well as relational database design
• Extensive experience with one or more general purpose programming languages, such as C#, TypeScript, Java, Python
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proven ability to meet tight deadlines, follow development standards and work independently
• Growth mindset / innovation spirit
• BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent
• Experience in Agile and DevOps development methodologies
