The Role

Fidelity Investments Core Brokerage Technology Domain is seeking an expert Senior Software Engineer to join our Statements Enhancements squad to work on statements enhancements and be part of its modernized journey  as we plan to move this platform to AWS cloud. The Customer Communications Product Area is part of the Core Brokerage Platform Domain (formerly the Operations Service Group – Technology organization). The product Area’s mission is to provide a platform that generates, archives, and reconciles non-regulatory and regulatory financial communications which meet all regulatory and compliance requirements and facilitates end investor experience through consumers across all lines of business.

The Expertise You Have and The Skills You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent.

  • 5+ years experience with modern programming languages and frameworks like Java, with IBM ODM rules, IBM WebSphere compute grid, Jenkins build, Git, Bit bucket, uDeploy. Oracle

  • Willingness to learn new technologies  API, messaging frameworks, container-based development (Docker/Kubernetes), Hibernate ORM/JDBC/Connection Pooling and EDA solutions such as Kafka/ MQ, AWS cloud

  • Hands on experience with Endevor, CICS, MQ, Cobol, JCL, TSO, SORT, File-Aid, DB2, Control-M and VSAM files.

  • Familiarity working with Easytrieve, mainframe transmissions using Direct Connect (NDM) and Axway SFTP and Business Objects.

  • Experienced with the tools of the trade including a variety of larger enterprise programming languages and frameworks.

  • Passion for technology and can navigate your way across sophisticated and rapidly changing landscapes by staying on top of the latest trends and thrive by sharing knowledge.

  • Creator, a doer, and a disruptor who will help us seek problems and meet customer needs. You’ll be helping us build things, taking an idea, and crafting rapid prototypes and learn from real-time feedback.

  • Have strong communication skills and technical expertise to drive and participate in substantial discussions with partners across business roles and skills.

  • Understanding of various mainframe and distributed layer data interactions.

  • Understanding of batch file processing for large amounts of data and their performance, dependency and throughput management.
