Who are we?

Transportation Financial Systems (TFS) is responsible for building technologies that support financial aspects for Amazon Transportation. Amazon’s transportation systems get millions of packages to customers worldwide faster and cheaper while providing world-class customer experience – from checkout to shipment tracking to delivery. Our software systems include services that handle tens of thousands of requests per second and make decisions to pay billions of dollars a year. Our mission is to abstract financial complexities from logistics world and vice versa.

Simple Invoicing Platform (SIP) within TFS is responsible for generation of accurate and compliant invoices in a timely manner. With the expansion of gig economy models and the digitization of taxation laws globally, we have an opportunity to serve a new set of customers ranging from individuals to MNCs working alongside Amazon. We achieve this by building highly scalable, multi-tenant platform components which can be re-used across clients and geographies.

In a nutshell, we provide compliant, flexible and scalable invoicing solutions for our wide range of customers.

What will you own?

You will be working with our Product Team, Principle Engineers and senior leadership in building a brand new invoicing solution. Building these capabilities for 100s of programs spanned across globe needs not just coding skills, but the passion to Innovate and Think big. Being responsible for multi-billion-dollar worth financials, you build secure, high throughput distributed systems that process billions of messages.
You will enlighten our customers with new features, engineer solutions to scale up our systems multi-fold keeping the cost low and strive to replace manual actions with ML based decisions and automated workflows.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· 4+ years of professional software development experience
· 3+ years of programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
· 2+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Master's degree
• Prior experience in re-architecting large software components, lead the development and hassle free migrations
• Ability to disambiguate complex business problems
• Ability to present tech vision to senior leadership team in a crisp manner
