The Sales Intelligence group maintains and develops Bloomberg’s in-house Customer Relationship Manager (CRM) system. Our applications foster engagement with millions of existing and prospective clients, track thousands of interactions with clients daily, and provide tools for our sales teams to maximize their productivity and sales. We also emphasize generating reports and analytics on our datasets to facilitate data-driven decisions by management. Our engineering teams work on everything from the database to the UI while partnering with UX and our product owners. Together, we continue to help grow Bloomberg’s revenue by improving efficiency and providing insights to our ever-growing sales force.

As part of our department, you’ll be a leader in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The Bloomberg business is a constantly evolving one and has become even more so with the changes to the work environment over the past few years. You will work closely with our business partners to keep up with these changes and lead initiatives to influence sales strategies and the direction of our applications. You will also have chances to define re-architecture plans and transform the way our technical solutions work, finding the right solutions and technologies to shape how we move and analyze data. Our Sales Intelligence department is ripe with opportunities to challenge the status quo and move our products forward, and we would love for you to be a part of it!

To do so, you’ll need to have:

•  Experience with object-oriented programming – We use a lot of Python, C#, and C++. While you do not need to know all three of these, you’ll have a chance to learn them all and we expect that you will grow our existing solutions as well as create new ones.
•  Knowledge of enterprise-level applications - Given the size of our datasets and user base, we manage scalability, stability, and high uptime within our distributed architectures.
•  Familiarity with relational databases – At the core of our systems are databases like PostgreSQL and SQL Server, and we use them to their fullest to build powerful applications.
•  Experience or a desire to lead projects – Contributing to project specifications and estimates, organizing tasks, and managing stakeholders are instrumental to any successful project – and we want you to lead them!
•  An interest in analytical problem solving – Solutions aren’t given to us; we find them and take pride in being analytical and data-driven in doing so.

Some additional things we’d love to see:

•  An understanding of CI/CD paradigms and experience with automated testing
•  Industry experience with NoSQL databases and REST APIs
•  Familiarity with Agile methodology and rituals
