The PowerApps platform (part of Business Application Group) aims to be the platform of choice for building components that permit high productivity and no-code nextgen application development. The platform empowers customers to easily customize, develop, and deploy business applications that work online and offline, for consumption on mobile devices and the web, without the need to write code. The platform will power the business applications and be the extensibility story for all of Office 365. 

PowerApps platform is a rapidly growing business at Microsoft. It is a Business Apps Platform that allows rapidly building (no-code to low-code) full-fledged applications via its range of customizations and extensions capabilities – from the Server tiers to the Client. All Business Apps experiences will be automatically surfaced by state-of-the-art declarative Client Infrastructure.

Our goal is that while we continue to allow the developer/ISV personas to create applications leveraging the Apps Platform with fullest capabilities of extensions to build Apps, an increasing set of non-developer personas/business users will be able to build/modify Apps without writing any code at all. The Client infrastructure will automatically discover and adapt to the full range of extensions as always abstracting out low-level implementation detail of browsers and devices away from every kind of business app developers.

We are looking for individuals to self-starters who grow into SMEs or technical leaders in design and implementation for the next generation cloud platform capabilities we are building. These capabilities must also scale out to support active usage around the world by thousands of customers 24x7.  You will be expected to work collaboratively within the team and provide technical oversight to feature crews, work through competing priorities, and solve complex technical challenges to meet business goals and maintain live site availability.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in software development
• 8+ years of solid experience in an OO Language like C# or Java
• BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent or 12+ years of industry experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with building Distributed services and advanced knowledge on web technologies is a plus
• Experience building applications on the Azure platform is a plus
