Azure Automation delivers a cloud-based automation and configuration capabilities that enable consistent management experience across Azure and non-Azure environments. It also acts as the base platform for delivering other value-added services like Azure Update Management providing cloud-based update management capabilities to customer’s virtual machines. Azure Automation service is a service operating at planet scale, available across the globe, running in 54+ regions, and executing billions of jobs per year. This is used by majority of Azure’s top customers to help run automated tasks in their environments helping save time and cost.  

Responsibilities

You will join us in running a large-scale service which is growing at a fast pace and help shape the direction for the service’s next phase of growth by solving some of the most complex and challenging problems in distributed systems. Huge challenges of scale, extensibility and COGS optimization await, and it is an exciting place to grow and have a significant contribution with immediate worldwide impact.  

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in commercial software development.  
• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience  
• Experience in building, shipping, and operating reliable, distributed systems software.  
• Commitment to collaboration and teamwork and ability to deliver via influence 

• Demonstrated problem solving and debugging skills. 
• Experience building RESTful services. 
• Solid CS fundamentals, fluent in multi-threaded and asynchronous programming, strong inclination for architecting at scale. 
• Experience developing software hosted in Azure, AWS, or other similar Cloud platforms.
