The Role

Fidelity Alternate Investments Area is looking for a passionate Senior Level Full Stack Production Support/Development Engineer to support and build its current and future offerings for the Alternate Investments squad. Our engineering team is innovative, diverse, passionate, and self-driven. We work in a very dynamic agile environment.

As a Production Support & Development Engineer on the squad, you will be expected to quickly gain understanding of all the components of our web applications and will work with other squad members to deliver outstanding production stability and solutions. The ideal candidate should show ease at quickly learning existing systems technology and infrastructure, be confident in leading and constructively challenging with a dedicated approach to troubleshooting, solving problems and overcoming obstacles to ensure production stability. Being a senior level engineer hands on technical expertise with databases, cloud infrastructure, programming languages is critical to the success of this role.

This position is open for Boston, Merrimack, Raleigh, Smithfield, or Westlake locations.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

• This role requires 5-7 years of Java, Oracle, Cloud development and support experience.
• Experience working with system/database administrators and development team to resolve issues
• Experience with solving data issues, performing systems administration tasks in cloud and non-cloud space
• Experience monitoring applications and database servers, collect and provide reporting applications health and usage metrics
• Experience solving technical issues and identifying their causes, collaborating with other internal departments and project teams, escalating when required and documenting the solutions
• Strong SQL Skills
• Good understanding of CI/CD process and tools preferably GitHub, Jenkins, Stash, Artifactory, Terraform
• Experience with Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS), AWS cloud monitoring tools, Docker, Datadog
• Knowledge of testing REST & SOAP based APIs using tools like Postman, Hoppscotch & SoapUI

The Team

The Alternative Investments Technology team sits within the Operations Services Group Technology group. Our team supports workstation and workbaskets platforms for providing alternative investments functions for the 3rd party funds. The team will be building the next generation of platform and modernizing the current suite of applications which will provide great learning opportunities.
