The Role

We are looking for a Site Reliability Engineer who wants to help teams scale through production best practices, developer guidance, real-time metrics, and automation. You are a quick learner and problem-solving engineer that enjoys tackling challenging business problems with software and/or hardware. As part of the SRE team, you will help define Fidelity Core Brokerage standards for reliability, availability, performance, scalability, security, resiliency, and efficiency of a service. Demonstrate a strong understanding of Cloud(AWS/Azure) deployment and best practices.

The Expertise You Bring

3-5 years of Software Engineering/DevOps experience

Experience working in an Agile delivery environment

Experience in software development and a deep understanding of the software life cycle stages

Proven expertise and passion for delivering complex technology solutions and achieving results

Financial services experience preferred

Prior experience in Distributed/Mainframe, Java, AWS, or Azure preferred

Solid understanding/experience of networking, virtualization, storage, containers, and serverless

Proven understanding of On Prem and Public Cloud as well as hands on experience working with public cloud (AWS/Azure)

Experience managing systems using infrastructure as code tools (IAM, ARM, Terraform, Chef, …)

Demonstrated ability to utilize modern monitoring tools (DataDog, Prometheus, Splunk, …)

Proficiency with CI/CD tools, Concourse/Jenkins

Strong in systems architecture

Strong database skills [relational, no-sql, caching]

Desire to call yourself a Site Reliability Engineer and a commitment to reducing toil

The Team

Core Brokerage exists to develop leading Brokerage-as-a-Service APIs and recordkeeping functions for the Fidelity Distribution Channels and Operations Professionals. To succeed in this mission Agility is at the core of how we operate to deliver Next Generation solutions that are not only secure and scalable, but also innovative and customer centric. You will be a key contributor to an 8-10-person team supporting the Core Brokerage Platform Domain that is driving the execution of our strategic modernization roadmap. The outcome we intend to achieve will be migrating our Brokerage record keeping platform from Mainframe-based with batch processing to a public Cloud-based platform in real-time
