Your responsibilities:• 

Contribute to the development of high-performance vision-based 3D sensor modalities and measurement & inspection systems• Develop fast and robust 3D image reconstruction algorithms, tailored to the manufacturing industry specifics• Enable 3D reconstruction by conducting an investigation of multi-modal approaches based on a combination of vision & depth sensors and other experimental modalities; deliver quantitative data• Publish investigation results in top scientific journals• Work as a Team Lead for interdisciplinary project teams; supervise international interns, Master and PhD students• Support active communication with research partners, represent the unit at international scientific conferences and trade fairs• Guide the strategic research direction by working on independent and industrial projects, promoting new ideas into the business area

Your Profile:• 

Academic background in Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Physics or similar fields• Solid knowledge and experience in machine vision and vision processing, especially in design of complex algorithms• Strong knowledge of mathematical (numerical) methods• Skills in programming (Python/C/C++/MATLAB)• Solid experience in the world of science and research work, having numerous publications in high-ranking scientific journals• Leadership and mentoring skills, strong interest in the Vision & Automation area development• Ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders from the research and industrial & business areas• Proficiency in English written and spoken, knowledge of German is of advantage
