THE ROLE
The Senior Risk Manager is integral to the ASOS Business Assurance & Resilience team. You will work closely with the Director of Internal Audit & Risk and will have responsibility for ASOS’ Enterprise Risk Management framework, business continuity and insurance. The Business Assurance & Resilience Team is on an exciting journey looking to closely integrate risk, business continuity, insurance and internal audit. This role is key to helping ASOS take the next steps in its journey towards best-in-class governance, transitioning from start-up mode to a more mature operating environment. THE TEAM
A senior member of the Business Assurance & Resilience team, providing specialist support to the business to manage today and prepare for tomorrow. We are a small team, working closely together to support ASOS in achieving its strategic objectives, through risk management, internal audit, business continuity management, insurance, and health & safety.
You will be…
Enterprise Risk Management
- Leading risk transformation across ASOS, developing the Risk Taxonomy, Risk Appetite and a new risk standard
- Scoping, building and running a launch campaign for the enterprise risk management framework to educate and bring risk management to life and embed the new risk standard across the business
- Responsible for ongoing day to day management of ASOS’ enterprise risk management framework
- Business partnering across risk owners to aid in risk identification, treatment and, where appropriate, escalation
- Preparing and delivering biannual risk reviews across the business and for the Exec and Audit Committee to review
- Supporting specific project risk management e.g. ESG, Credit, Supply Chain
- Responsible for risk management reporting including the Annual report
Incident & Crisis Management
- Responsible for the ASOS crisis management framework and associated plans including ensuring it remains fit for purpose and evolves in line with business strategy and risk appetite
- Responsible for education and awareness of the framework with key stakeholders
- Determine where to conduct Business Impact Assessments over core processes and feed the output of these into crisis management plans
- Develop and deliver exercises and training for Senior Stakeholders e.g., Exec and Exec -1
- Line management of the Risk Manager
Business Continuity Management
- Responsible for the crisis management framework and associated plans including ensuring they remain fit for purpose and evolve in line with business strategy and risk appetite
- Deliver education and awareness campaigns of the framework for key stakeholders
- Develop and deliver exercises and training for stakeholder groups
- Conduct Business Impact Assessments over core processes and feed the output of these into crisis management plans
- Develop & implement a training and awareness plan for engaging ASOSers on our BCM plans and processes
- Owner of key relationships with third party BCM support providers
Insurance
- Line manage the Risk Manager to:
- Deliver the ASOS insurance programme, running the annual renewal process, ensuring appropriate coverage for the business
- Drive process improvement to make understanding insurance requirements easier and more accessible for stakeholders
- Address ASOS insurance queries, claims and project support
- Work with FM Global re account management
- Work together with the H&S team to mitigate risk, using data from claims and lessons learnt to drive a stronger control environment
- Work with the Director of Internal Audit & Risk on developing and defining the longer-term insurance strategy
Miscellaneous
- Prepare Audit Committee updates for Risk, Business Continuity and Whistleblowing
- Liaise with landlord / other tenants as required
- Triage of Whistle-Blowing reports including Senior Stakeholder escalation if required outside of Whistle-blowing Officers
