Risk Manager – FFIO, Finance and FREC Risk

The FFIO, Finance and FREC Risk Team within the Fidelity Legal Risk and Compliance group is looking for a hardworking, team member to help support the business in identifying, supervising and mitigating risks in order protect the interests of the firm and our customers. The Senior Risk Manager is responsible for protecting Fidelity’s customers and deepening their trust in Fidelity by partnering with the business to identify risks and develop innovative solutions to improve controls, while fostering a strong risk mentality within the business. To complete this goal, the team is responsible for identifying, assessing, and reporting on significant risks and helping management improve the control environment.

The Businesses We Support

Our team provides Business Unit Risk support to a variety of Fidelity’s Corporate Functions, including Fidelity Real Estate Company (FREC), Corporate Accounting, Corporate Treasury, and Procurement. We also support Fund Operations within Fidelity Fund and Investment Operations (FFIO), including the Fund Billing, TA Treasury and Alternative Accounting groups. The primary areas of business unit support and focus for this role will be dependent on the interest and skills of the candidate.

The Expertise You Have

Bachelors’ Degree required

7+ years’ industry experience, including some Audit or other Risk Management activities

Other applicable experience (e.g., accounting, real estate, billing, etc.) useful but not required

Demonstrated leadership or project management experience

Thinks strategically and approaches work with an open mind and sense of creativity by challenging current practices and recommending improvements to mitigate risks and drive positive change

Proficient in data analytics capabilities and tools (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, Tableau); knows when and how to move from sample-based testing to analyzing full populations to surface risk or identify control deficiencies

Ability to lead multiple tasks; and provide supervision and direction to less experienced associates

Communicates clearly, concisely and impactfully in order to influence others; tailors messaging to audience

Builds strong and inclusive working relationships, in person and virtually, with business partners and colleagues

Adaptable to new information, changing business priorities, input from others, and lessons learned

Proven risk management knowledge and experience, including risk assessment and control evaluation

The candidate’s primary responsibility will be providing business unit risk support, including:

Proactively engaging with the business and using data to identify risks, provide guidance, complete risk assessments, and perform testing activities

Continuously analyzing and assess the risk profile of the business

Helping to advance our data analytics strategies and use of digital technologies to support risk assessments and activities

Collaborating across our Risk team and the Legal, Risk and Compliance group to optimize the Risk Management support provided to the business and advance the effectiveness of our program
