Job Description

Capita have an exceptional opportunity for a highly capable client-side Senior Quantity Surveyor/ Senior Employers Agent to join an expanding organisation specialising in the Private High Rise Residential sector based in our Sheffield office.

Working alongside the Project Manager, in this newly created role you, you will have full accountability for preparing, managing, and reporting all financial costs, managing evaluation of works and leading a team on several UK & Europe based industrial/ commercial projects, each valued up to £100m.

Job Description:

What you’ll be doing:

  • Undertake Project Management duties throughout the entire project lifecycle
  • Undertake Quantity Surveying duties throughout the entire project lifecycle
  • Administration of the Building Contract and undertaking the role of Employers Agent
  • Undertake the role of key Client contact and carry out client liaison throughout
  • Preparation of estimates, cost plans and tender documentation including Employer’s Requirements using various forms of measurement and contracts
  • Preparation and agreement of interim valuations with Contractors and issue recommendations for payment
  • Pricing of variations throughout the duration of the project and provide cost advice
  • Attend site meetings and provide input and support to the project
  • Produce monthly PM progress reports
  • Administer the Reviewable Design Data (RDD) process as required by the Building Contract
  • Provide commercial advice throughout the entire project life cycle
  • Preparation of monthly financial cost reports and cash flow forecasts throughout the period of the project
  • Re-measurement of quantities with contractors, and the preparation and agreement of final accounts including claims. Prepare final accounts for clients.
  • The preparation and analysis of statistical cost information to monitor trends in the Building Industry and assisting with the cost planning of future projects

What we’re looking for:

  • Substantial Quantity Surveyor / Contracts Administrator experience working within a contractor/ client-side project environment.
  • Experience ideally gained in a similar or related industry
  • Degree qualified or equivalent and/or hold or working towards professional qualification (RICS, IACCM or similar)
  • Ability to estimate change / variations using various methods
  • Able to forecast cost and measure cost of work complete
  • Good negotiation skills with ability to manage expectations
  • Good contractual knowledge and experience
