As an integral part of the Quantitative Research and Investing (QRI) team, the Quantitative Research Services group (QRS) oversees production data management, model integrity and end-to-end technical support for portfolio management, risk models and quant research platforms. The team provides analytic solutions and reporting frameworks to partners in QRI, portfolio management, as well as senior leaders across the Equity, Fixed Income, High Income, and Multi Asset Class divisions of Asset Management. This niche team leads development efforts to expand and improve the technical and data infrastructure, research platforms, diagnostic tools and reporting capabilities associated with multi-factor model risk forecasting, quantitative alpha models, big data analytics, and performance attribution. Together with their partners in the technology, research and investment services divisions, members of this organization work as an integral part of small project teams to deliver innovative data visualization and analytic tools capable of illustrating point-in-time and time series investment themes, portfolio exposures, and factors driving fund performance. In addition to their project work, associates are also responsible for the oversight, maintenance, quality assurance and operational support of analytic and reporting environments to ensure timely and accurate investment intelligence is delivered for direct use within the portfolio management process.

The Expertise You Have:

A Bachelor’s degree in finance, math, accounting, engineering, or computer science. Master’s Degree and/or CFA Charter are strongly desired.

5 plus years of experience in an investment data analytics capacity.

Demonstrated history as a top performer working in a data analysis role with great technical skills. 

The Value You Deliver: 

Deep understanding of either investment risk forecasting, quantitative alpha research or portfolio construction including model construction, factor definitions, factor calculations, and translating output statistics into meaningful information

Develop and operate our data platform to deliver production-grade data curation to be utilized in quantitative models, portfolio construction and trading. Design and maintain python-based data abstraction and analytical tools to streamline and standardize quantitative processes

Oversee daily/weekly/monthly production reporting cycles across the analytic environments.  Ensure the integrity of input data, that it is available and complete, processes run successfully, statistical output is accurate, and reports are generated properly

Respond to ad-hoc data analysis requests in support of projects performed by Quant Analysts

Contribute to the continued development and incorporation of non-traditional and/or unstructured data as well as data science applications to enhance the research and investment process.

The Skills You Bring:

Advanced level SQL knowledge and ability to analyze a wide array of diverse content

Proficient programming in Python or R with the ability to develop customized quantitative tools

Highly analytical with the ability to quickly comprehend large data sets to develop new processes, perform calculations, identify anomalies, and/or produce new reporting capabilities.

Familiarity with quantitative analytics like fund and index performance measurement and knowledge of Security Reference data across Asset Classes (Equity, Fixed Income) including derivative instruments

Strong hands-on project leadership skills with the drive to complete complex projects as a part of small teams within an extremely fast paced environment.  Capability to liaise with investment professionals to gather requirements and manage deliverables of technical development teams

Knowledge of evaluating risk and valuation of derivatives including swaps, forwards, futures and options

Highly proactive and self-motivated with the ability to meet objectives under minimal supervision.

Knowledge of Security Reference data across Asset Classes (Equity, Fixed Income) including derivative instruments

Familiarity with Alts / Alt Risk Premia in a multi asset class context a plus

Experience with FactSet and Bloomberg is a plus

Experience with Quant Platform capabilities like back-testing, computing core statistical measures and familiarity of Cloud Technologies for running these capabilities at scale is a plus
