Senior QA Engineer –

As a Senior QA Engineer in one of our 30 engineering platforms operating at hyper-scale receiving thousands of requests per second, you’ll work as part of strong cross functional Agile teams driving the quality, testing and technology bringing your skills and experience to share with the team and mentor other engineers’ day to day. From problem solving to new concept ideas, you have the genuine opportunity to unleash your full potential and creativity on a variety of ASOS software projects.

What you will be doing:  

• Working with people (Engineers, QA Engineers, Platform Engineers) in your platform to deliver well-crafted products  

• Question things all the time. Think about the customer. Our ways of working, the features the team are implementing, the technologies we’re using. 

• Coach and mentor your peers making use of pairing sessions and knowledge sharing 

• Drive and own testing practices within the team 

• Contribute to CI/CD practices that will enable the team to release with confidence 

• Bring new tools, ideas and practices to the team and help them adopt them 

• Ensure the right test tooling and frameworks and practices (e.g. shift-left/shift-right) are in place where appropriate to help the teams to deliver against the business goals 

• Working on a variety of tasks to ensure the software delivered is appropriately tested  

You will have the opportunity to work with the following technologies:  

• Testing tools such as NUnit, NCrunch, Postman, JMeter, Fiddler, RestSharp 

• .NET Framework and .NET Core, C# 

• Azure DevOps and CI/CD Pipelines 

• Microsoft Azure  

• NService Bus, Azure Service Bus 

• Cosmos DB 

• SQL Server 

• Azure Kubernetes Service 

About you: 

• You’ll have experience with some of the tooling above but an appreciation that a tool can only take you so far 

• You have a wide array of experience in the testing field, with APIs, Databases, Service Bus, Microservices 

• You’ve worked with and potentially built out automation frameworks and understand the value that they bring in tandem with strong testing and engineering practices 

• You’re able to talk through the Application Architecture explaining how risk is mitigated through the testing processes 

• As a passionate Senior QA Engineer you’ve played an integral part in an Agile team working closely with Engineers and all stakeholders
