The Role

We are seeking a motivated Senior Property Advisor to join and lead in the established Accommodation Optimisation team (AOT) and within our expanding Estates network.

As a Senior Property Advisor you will bring experience and understanding of property planning and development, taking on the responsibility for the direction and delivery of accommodation optimisation projects, outputs and advice to all customers, including via DIO in-house staff and Industry Partners as required.

The role is classified as a Senior Property Advisor role and suitably experienced and qualified surveyors, town planners and other property professionals meeting the essential requirements may also apply and will be considered.

Post Location

There are 3 posts available and these can be worked out of any of the locations stated at the top of the advert. Please state your location preference on your application.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic most employees are currently working from home, as these restrictions ease the post holder may be expected to work a combination of home and office based working. All employees will be provided with IT equipment to facilitate remote working.

Responsibilities

Main Responsibilities

The Senior Property Advisor Role is responsible for accommodation strategy, planning, funding, development and delivery, whilst reviewing and assessing progress against programmes, ensuring continued alignment with wider DIO/Military infrastructure programmes and strategic objectives. The role delivers accommodation optimisation projects, outputs and advice to all customers, including via DIO in-house staff and Industry Partners as required.

The roles deliver strategy development, assessing options for the provision of new SFA/SLA to meet the requirements of DIO/Defence Estate Optimisation Programmes and other Military funded projects, balancing competing demands and dependencies.

You will complete business case development and approvals linked to investment and value for money appraisals, leading all aspects of local planning, design and procurement workload. As well as procuring specialist and market advice as required and seeing opportunities for enhancing value within the MOD Estate in relation to the provision of accommodation.

The successful candidate will support the Head and Assistant Head of AOT and will be responsible for delivery of agreed AOT outputs and programmes.

You will be a customer focused team leader and working closely with military and civilian collegues, will deliver a “consultancy” service and provide advice to all customers and will be accountable for ensuring they/& their team adhere and confirm with all agreed processes, operating procedures and regulations.

Allowances

For successful candidate(s) based at Andover, Wyton, Portsmouth and Sandhurst locations only, the post(s) offer a Market Skills Allowance of:

MRICS/FRICS Qualified - £5,000.00 per annum

Travel Requirements

Post holders will be required to travel to the sites covered by the post on a regular basis and some visits may involve overnight stays. Some sites are difficult to access via public transport.
