Senior Project Manager

The role?

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for leading and managing the day to day activities Capita’s projects through to delivery of the new capabilities, realisation of benefits and project closure.
The SPM with ensure the project brief, including the project product description, benefits management approach, PID, and its components, stage/exception plans and their product delivery.
Managing the information flows between the directing and delivering levels of the project.
Managing the production of the required products, taking responsibility for overall progress and use of resources and initiating corrective action where necessary.
Establising and manage the project’s procedures: risk management, issue management, change control and communication.

Who we are looking for?

Effective leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to command respect and to create a sense of community amongst the members of the project teams
• Knowledge of techniques for planning, monitoring and controlling programmes
• Business case development and approvals skills
• Understanding of the procurement process including negotiation with third parties
• Knowledge of budgeting and resource allocation procedures
• Sufficient seniority and credibility to advise project teams on their projects in relation to the programme
• Ability to find ways of solving or pre-empting problems
• Knowledge of programme and project management methods including MSP, PRINCE2 and Agile
