About the role:
We are looking for two enthusiastic Senior Project Managers (PM) who have significant successful experience organising and running civil engineering projects - managing budgets and timelines effectively. As PM you will perhaps be new to project management and keen to develop and support the team. The split of work will depend on the candidates but two bridges will be designed and built, one aqueduct repaired, four miles of canal dredged and three large nature reserves built.
Key Accountabilities:
- Manage work packages as defined
- Take an active part in project promotion and ensuring visibility of the Trust, and other partners, in those activities
- Manage relevant consultation, planning permission process and work with consultants
- Work with local stakeholders
- Work with the local volunteers to ensure maximum community engagement during the project.
- Ensure effective communication, feedback and collaborative working practices between all parties especially project partners, project team staff and staff and volunteers involved in delivery of the work streams.
- Support the Programme Director to satisfy funding compliance and reporting, and to submit funding claims and reports to funders.
Knowledge, Experience & Skills:
- Educated to minimum degree level or equivalent, ideally in a relevant discipline.
- Extensive experience and knowledge of project delivery associated with high quality process management.
- Delivering projects on or around canals, desirable.
- Understanding of environmental legislation and the planning process, desirable.
- Experience co-ordinating, motivating and working within multidisciplinary teams of staff.
- Experience collaborating and working in partnerships, balancing the needs of different stakeholders to achieve excellent outcomes and rigorous project governance.
- Excellent communication skills, verbally, visually and in writing, with experience of delivering clear communication about complex subject matter.
- Experience writing concise and clear reports proposals and briefing statements.
- Experience of risk management.
- Creative approach to problem solving.
- Ability to understand and implement organisational policies.
