Overview

The Senior Project Manager IT is responsible for the successful end-to-end delivery of strategic projects, programs, and portfolios. The role leads projects, programs, portfolios or leads an Agile ART or several agile teams, through the systems development life cycle from planning through hyper care, working in close partnership with IT and business leaders including executive sponsors. The responsibilities also includes leading, collaboration, coaching team members and influencing others outside their direct team to ensure the success of initiatives.

Specialized Skills and Technologies

Experience Blue Yonder (JDA) or SAP 

Understanding of and certification in Agile or other traditional project management delivery principles  

Experience in managing large and complex technical projects

Understanding of fundamentals of IT Architecture & Systems to deliver solutions is a must

Experience in integrating multiple systems (logic and data) across the enterprise is required

Functional knowledge and experience in implementing large and complex solutions either related to software, data or Infrastructure projects is required

Experience with Microsoft Office tools is required

Ability to create and follow work and data flow charts is required

Need to understand Software Development Life Cycle and various delivery methodologies like Waterfall and Agile

Primary Responsibilities

Provide coaching and guidance to team members

Create and maintain project budgets

Build strong project teams

Manage and organize project teams to support project needs

Manage projects to successfully meet business requirements and outcomes

Plan and run test plans

Create work break down structures to support project delivery and track plan

Use level of efforts to assist in developing project budgets

Manage project progress and create effective status reports

Manage all required project documentation per SGWS PMO standards

Define, drive test metrics and monitor testing to ensure testing is completed per project schedule

Define resource plan and manage throughout project life cycle

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree

Five (5+) years leading system development or relevant work experience

Size of project is $500K -$2M, or up to 2-3 small projects at a time

Led systems development methodology

Ability to lead a team environment with Agile delivery values

Experience managing multiple medium to complex projects across multiple functions including planning, analysis, design, development, implementation, and satisfaction of project requirements

Experience managing and mentoring project management staff including providing stretch opportunities and coaching to develop team and deliver results

Proven experience successfully managing business and technical resources under an integrated project plan to ensure the alignment of resources

Ability to take ownership for managing all aspects of project management from discovery through delivery implementation

Experience presenting, escalating, and providing solutions to senior leadership

Experience managing a variety of viewpoints to build consensus and create positive outcomes for all parties. Proven record of focusing on building trusted relationship with those responsible for execution

Ability to quickly assess projects at the onset for areas of risk, identify gaps and recommend areas for improvement

Experience in change management related aspects of project execution and ability to incorporate change considerations in planning / execution of projects

May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 20lbs
