Job Description

We are looking for an experienced National Highways (NH) Project Manager to expand our highways team following our appointment to National Highways Technical Advisor framework. The TA framework offers the opportunity to work on multiple exciting and varied projects up to £100m. Our ambitious NH (HE) growth through TA, our partnerships with Contractors and SPaTS means there is huge potential for career development, before even considering our wider Highways and Transportation business. We are looking for a candidate who can progress into a Project Director role as we quickly grow.

Senior Project Manager - Associate/ Technical Director National Highways

Location: Home based – UK
 

What you’ll be doing:

  • Manage Highways England TA projects and their teams at different stages of the PCF process.  Drive project delivery to ensure deliverables, budgets and milestones are achieved or exceeded.
  • Ensure the project’s commercial targets are met or exceeded.
  • Be responsible for day to day client management.
  • Regularly report on progress and escalate risks to the Project Director and Client.
  • Ensure CDM 2015 compliance.
  • Manage the project resources to achieve the client brief.
  • Produce, adhere and frequently review the Stage Management Plan and programme.
  • Maximize income by proactively managing the project finances, including forecasting, cashflow, profitability and the Compensation Event process.
  • Adhere to project management and accountancy procedures in line with Capita processes.

What we’re looking for:

  • Direct experience working for Highways England on multi-million-pound project/s.
  • Operational knowledge of Highways England’s PCF products, processes, reporting requirements and supplier performance metrics.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.

It would also be great if you have (desirable):

  • Experience of delivering PCF Stage 1 and 2.
  • Highways England scheduling (project programming) experience.
  • A Professional Qualification.
  • Technical Assurance experience in the Development Phase.
  • Collaborative Planning or Production Planning experience.
